Radio One

When Radio One recently sought to redesign the interiors at two of its studios, the leading U.S. broadcasting company desired unique environments drawn from unified themes. Imagine Tile was the immediate decorative surfacing choice for Merriman and Associates, the Radio One design firm.

Because of its close proximity to Boston Harbor, Radio One’s Boston location’s interior design was inspired by its view of the bay. The expansive 760 square-foot lobby’s aesthetics stem from Imagine Tile’s Pacific Blue design, with its dramatic visuals of light playing on rippling water.

The Radio One studio in downtown Atlanta is designed in the same vein, employing elements from its surrounding environment.

Imagine Tile’s Street Smarts series was used to bring the “urban jungle” indoors. The 1170 square foot lobby features Asphalt, a decorative depiction of a freshly tarred street; Crosswalk Center, the asphalt imagery combined with diagonal yellow lines; and LTD, a life size manhole cover. The look is bold yet lustrous, conveying urban appeal through a slick design concept.
